So again I was surfing on Craigslist.com and I just typed in "overflow box" in the search bar and I found an ad from a guy wanting to get rid of an overflow box and a pump;D. I asked him what he could tell me about them and he said he really didn't know much. I bought them for $50 and he threw in a new Coralife PC light (It looks like the regular pc lights, but it has four tubes instead of two, White, Blue, Yellow and Purple.)
So I just wanted to know, is there a way to guess what the GPH for each of the overflow and pump would be?
All I know is that he told me it was a submersable Mag pump 120v/60Hz 58W.
    What do you guys think?
And was this a good deal for $50?

the mag pump should have a model # then google specs
the overflow looks like a 500 or so gph, what size hose on the overflow?
and the metal hose clamp on the pump should not be there..
and the light's are a bonus. prob cost ya 100$ to replace the bulbs.
any of it work? think you could clean them in vinegar solution would check with others for mix / ratio

Yeah, they definitely need a good cleaning. I think the pump is so darn crusty I can't find a number on it.
The hose is about 1 1/2" wide and about 3' long.
I thought the exact same thing about the metal clamp. I mean metal....saltwater....? Not a good combo, nor a healthy one.

Well, I don't think that pump is a Mag Drive brand pump (by Danner) because I don't think they make a pump that uses 58watts, it also doesn't look like any pump I've ever seen. Make sure you take it apart and make sure the impeller is cleaned well with vinegar.

As for the overflow I have no clue, I don't like overflow boxes so I'm no expert, just be careful and read up on ways to make them safer for power outages (like using an aqualifter). :)

The light is probably more trouble than its worth though IMO, like said before it will cost a bit to replace the bulb and PC's aren't the best lights anyways.

Yeah, But I can't complain about the light, I mean the guy threw it in for free.
Im gonna clean the heck outta the pump. Its encrusted pretty thick.
I plan on inspecting it and making sure it's in good condition. It looks like its in good condition, It just looks like it may be a little older.
