So the power keeps going out. Sorry for the delay. Back to the story:

I ran in the apartment to rescue the family before any more of the aliens came. It was a woman, between twenty-five and thirty; the child about four. I ran to them and made sure they weren't hurt: they were fine. I radioed the military and they dispatched a rescue unit. It would take about five minutes to arrive.

I spent that time looking around the apartment, as well as the surrounding apartments. It seemed eerie, the way that everything in all of the apartments was left the way that they would usually be, but there was a lack of life. Everything seemed to be fine, no aliens, so I escorted the family to the vehicle that had just arrived; it was a Mercedes Benz G-Class.

The trip to Jacksonville was a long one. I mostly took care of the family. The mom told me her name was Rose and her son was Sebastian. She said that they didn't know what was happening until it was too late. They tried to pack, but they hid in the boy's room when they heard shooting. I couldn't imagine being put in that situation.

The ride went smoothly until we were about fifteen miles from Saint Augustine. The officer in the passenger seat noticed three stragglers walking down I-95. We parked about five hundred feet from them. The two officers took out their rifles and picked them off before they had time to react.

I have to get off now. My time's up. I'll try and catch you guys up as soon as I can.

Again, be careful, be safe, and always watch your backs.

At first I thought someone else had a brother born on December 21st. False alarm only an alien attack.

Everything seems to have gotten better, or so I hope. We haven't seen any of them in a little while, but I don't want to jinx myself.

I helped the military at the time by rotating between doing rescue missions and sniping during the day. I was barely able to get rest, but it was worth protecting people.

The family that I rescued at first has been doing great. Everyone is slowly getting back to normal after the state of shock they were in. Hopefully everyone can return home within the next couple of weeks. Sadly, a lot of these people won't have homes to return to. They will have to stay here for a while until we can figure out what to do.

Let's just hope that the aliens are gone.
