Open source is great. Now there is an opinion. So you like 80% complete software? ;-)

Whatever tablet you get, just please please please, don't use it for a video camera when your at events with people standing behind you. I was at a swim meet recently and there were about a dozen people standing in front of us with 10 inch tablets, looked to be mostly ipads, holding them up in the air to take video. Very obnoxious to say the least.
Sorry for my semi off topic rant.

Ill take 80r and free as long as it does the job I need it to do ;) ...plus all of apples shady business of tracking people where a bouts has me alittle unnerved "corrected" or not.im also not so keen on having to buy things that are only available through apple, kinda like being a prisoner

Android is a much younger operating system and its come along much faster then apple.leads me to believe they will continue to grow faster.

I've used macs and iphones/pads.they're ok the hardware is good its just not for me.

Much younger?! They were both first released in 2007. They are the same age.

In fact, Android was first purchased by google in 2005 while there were no releases about iOS until 2007. So really.. android is older.

I would go with the iPad, I personally own all Apple stuff and I love the App store.

This thread will turn into a bashing game, I think you need to go into a store and play with Android and iPad and pick for yourself.

Your correct as far as the operating system itself but not interms of company growth. Google itself has grown in leaps and bounds from what I know.apple has been growing but I think there will be more to offer from google then apple.and the open source just adds fuel to their growth.

I would go with the IPad or Nook because they're the only one's I know ;)
I have the Nook, it's really nice and I get 1 hour of free internet in Barns & Noble and my friend has the newest IPad, which is pretty awesome and incredibly thin.

i find the ipads to heavy. not saying im weak and cant hold up an ipad. just feels to bulky. I like apple to. ive had an ipod touch for about 2 yrs now. dropped it and abused it and its still going. never cracked a screen. but my wife just got the ipad and it just feels to bulky for my liking.

Honestly tablets in general are bulky and awkward to use I find...at least trying to type on. At least my 10in tab is. To large to type with thumbs and to awkward to type like a normal keyboard.
