The new 7 point some inch galaxy tablet is supposed to be really nice and google is going to be releasing a 7in tablet soon too. Unless you plan on use the keyboard dock you might want to look into one of the 7inchers

It depends on what you want in a tablet. If you're into apps, I would stay away from the Microsoft/Windows platforms, go Android or ios. If you like playing with things, yearlong settings, rooting, playing with programming, modding, anything like that, or if free apps are important, go Android. If you don't mind paying for a lot of apps, don't do much on the internet, and just want something easy to use, go ios. Although another point is you can get an android tab for a lot less than anything else.
I would second avoiding Samsung. IME they just haven't really nailed Android, a lot of there devices have trouble keeping up with all the different programs and updates, there are a lot of apps they have trouble running.

Some of the lower end samsung phones yes. But Samsung has made some of the best android phones ie galaxy s 2, galaxy nexus and soon to be galaxy s 3.

I have the T101 and love it. I have nothing bad to say about the Samsung as I have the TV and phone and they both work great but the Asus Tablets outperform hands down
