I'm wanting to take the plunge to LEDs. I currently have a 4 bulb T5 that needs new bulbs. 4 ATI bulbs will run me $100 every 9 or 10 months. I'm looking at the reefbreeders value fixtures and the Kessils. I need two. 48" long tank. I found a guy that is selling two of the A150w Kessils with the gooseneck mounts for $300. I love the look of the Kessils from what I've seen on YouTube. The reefbreeders seem good but I can't find any videos of the value fixtures over a tank. Most videos are of the bigger units or someone unboxing a fixture and turning on the LEDs. Yeah we get it they are bright. Put em on a tank for gods sake. And I'm not crazy about ordering reefbreeders and having to wait a month to get them. Which direction would be best ? Thanks.

I don't know the Kessel models, if the 150 isn't a newer one I would go reef breeders

The a150 is kessils first generation of aquarium lighting. Two of them would work on your tank but no dimming or setting spectrum.
Between the two I would go for the reef breeders. But not the value fixture, if I were you I would look at the photon 32 for your 48" tank.

But also if you want something with better control and spectrum you could use 2 of the AI hydra which would be amazing for your tank.

The photon is a little more than I can afford right now. I've seen the 32 over a 48" tank and the sides are dark. Even though the kessil 150 are the first generation the videos I've seen they look better but not sure about the spectrum of them. And they have some of the best shimmer I've seen. Thanks for the suggestions. Got some thinking to do. Lol

I just ordered a value fixture for my frag tank. It was a no brainer for me since I only needed one. Although even with needing 2 for a 48" long tank, I still think they would be the way to go.

I ordered it through a group buy that just ended. My guess is 2-3 weeks. That is the typical timeframe from what I understand.

Keep us updated on how you like it. I think I'm just gonna stick with my T5 for now and order the ATI bulbs next week. Money is tight anyways. Lol. I'm hoping I can get corals to open up this time. Didn't go to good last time I tried.
