I am looking to buy (4) more pumps for my sump build after alot of looking i kinda like the watts/gph and price of Deep Blue Pumps. I like their largest pump 1,343 gph @ 60 watts also like their sponge filter since they will be running reactors from my sump/refugium. (all pumps need to be 1000gph plus)
Have found a few reviews seems pretty good, what do you think? If it was you what pumps would you use?

    Thank you for your input:)

The white egg crate is a DIY double sock holder that i am still working on will be painted black when finished.

I have that pump. It is great, small and quiet. To me it should be one of the highest rated pumps out there today.

    Thank You

Thank you RJT for your input i have been looking at pump/powerheads for my build and have check Deep Blues against many pumps at same gph and head charts and Deep Blue beats them all. Have found a couple of reviews as stated but was looking for 3reef members thoughts. I will be going with them for my build, thank you again.

I disagree with the deep blue pumps having better stats when it comes to head pressure. I don't like my deep blue pump at all. I get half as much flow from the DB5000 at 5 ft of pressure than I did with my eheim 1262 at 5ft of pressure. It is also noisy for a few days after the pump is turned off. For the price, they are hard to beat, but I feel you will be replacing the pump sooner than other pumps.

You may have a bad one. I have not heard my pump since I bought it. My mag 9.5 has some noise but nothing to complain about (for comparison purposes only). This pump definitely has more flow than my mag 9.5, noticeably more.

That would be a tremendous amount of head loss if a pump with a max gph of 900 had twice as much flow than a pump with over 1300.

The effect of head pressure on the gph of a pump has almost nothing to do with gph at 0ft of head.

I have dealt with a number of their pumps. All with similar results.

Maybe I have the anomaly with deep blue if you have had several of them with issues. I can only speak of the one that I have.

    Trying something new

Good input guy's i have used inline pumps on most of my builds so i am not up to date with Good Quality sump pumps. I have used Rio's years ago and always liked them except trying to use them with wavemakers(not good). This build wanted to try to use pumps i have never used so thanks again for all views.
These pumps will be running (2) 8"x 36" reacters- one with blue Bio Bail controled by blue gate valve above picture and one with black bio media(floating bed filter) black gate valve. I wanted to have 1000gph for each reacter so looking at 1350 +- to allow for head pressure apx. 4' each. The other (2) reactors are 8" x 20" looking for pumps @ 1000gph to allow for HP @ 4' also so maybe 700 +- through reacters.
The (4) 1/2" gate valves will be running (4) 4" X 20" reactors- Kalk., Bio Pearls, Carbon, and one as needed. So i need (2) pumps on these @ 1350gph+- because each pump will run (2) reacters so minus head would like 500gph+ to use if needed.
    Via Aqua pumps? Any thoughts?

I am going with (2) of the largest Deep Blue Pumps, already have (2) Rio 3100's so i still need (2) pumps and (1) backup so i would like to try other brand of pumps for the three still needed.
Other pump input not listed here?
