I've been getting more and more of these red spots all over my rocks. They're all over the places, not just in one area.

They're deep red. At first I though it was cyano but it wasn't fuzzy or hairy.

I took a turkey baster to it and it didn't come off. I then used a stick to poke at it and it would flake off a little if i use a little force.

Cyano is smooth, not hairy or fuzzy.
If you touch it and it rubs off, its cyano. If its hard and crusty, its coralline.

Sounds like coralline. I have some of that dark type too.

Hard to say. A picture is worth a thousand words.

+1 on swagger87. Cyano is slimy and will blow off fairly easy. If its hard and flaking off, probably coralline.

I'm going to have to say coralline as well. At least not cyano.

even coralline algae feels slimy to me, i'll try to take a picture tonight. i didn't mean to say flake off like a big flake, it just dust off like pores, after a good hard stabbing and rubbing with my stick.

It's not cyano. Cyano wil blow off with a turkey baster and it's kinda stringy.

I recently obtained a rock with some blastomus and it had red coralline on there. Now I have deep maroon coralline starting all over rocks. Awesome stuff, adds a lot of color.
