LOL our pair have their own tunnel network under our rocks. They have about 5 or 7 hole locations that they periodically open, close, and reopen. It looks like Iwo Jima under those rocks ::) Sometimes our shrimp gets into super workoholic mode and we'll see the goby guarding one hole, and the shrimp pop out of another hole on the other side of the tank wondering where his goby is

I do hope your rocks are secure...at least on glass rather than on sand.

    Everything looks great!

Thanks. The rocks should be good. All the bottom rocks are on the glass. I recently rearranged the upper rocks for better stability and for coral placement.

Looks Good. Your next step will be to build a fuge :)

Thanks. I'm hoping my next step will be a tank upgrade with a sump/fuge combo. The stand I currently have has a tall, narrow space underneath that holds a canister filter perfectly, but is not very usefull for a fuge and as it sits now there isn't a lot of room around it, but I have room for a 4' tank there. It's just going to take time to convince my wife. ;D

A fuge/phosphate reactor helped us out ALOT! I'm going to swear by them from now on, every tank I ever participate in. My opinion is permenantly "ditch the bioballs and let the plants do something"

Good for you on the rocks. Our duo dug some tunnels the other day on the left side - not their normal digging side. It actually collapsed some of the sand and I was looking at the glass bottom in places. I breathed out a sigh of relief. If those rocks weren't anchored well (and sitting directly on the bottom), I'm afraid I would have had a major rock slide in that part of the tank, which could have been a disaster! My sand bed is 2 to 3 inches in places - they can do some major digging!

I decided to return the diamond goby to the LFS today.

While I was working on the top cover this week, my diamond goby decided to jump out of the tank. I got him back in pretty quickly and he seemed like he was ok, but a little stressed. Since that time all the other fish in the tank have been harassing him and nipping at his tail. It is sad to see him go, but his health comes first.

I will have pictures of the new top tomorrow along with pics of my new coral frag.

    Pics

Here are some pics of the new net top with acrylic splash shield that I made this week. It has really helped with the water temperature and allows more light into the tank. I used a window screen frame kit and instead of screen I used bird netting. That was the easy part. The acrylic splash shield took a lot of work cutting out all the slots.

I also included a pic of the new rock placement.

    More Pics

Here are a few pics of the tree coral I picked up yesterday. One of the clowns had to come and see what I was up to.

    Even More Pics

While I had the camera out this morning, the tunnel crew started work for the day. The usual foreman was there frowning and another inspector came to take a look at the progress. I aslo included a pic of my original hitch hiker who even after the rock re-work is still doing great.
