Yeah, tangs are no joke man... it's a different ball game, they are much more sensitive (particularly the regal/blue tangs)... not to mention it's pretty heartbreaking when they die... i can't believe yours got taken so quickly... the blue tangs have such a great demeanor too, they will literally let you pet them and hand feed them... but you know how this is, just as soon as you start to change anything... everything seems to go wrong... i recently had to move my tank twice in the span of two weeks and lost a lot of livestock... the stress from moving i think is about the most stress you can place on a reef, and it's very likely that the blue tang did introduce the ich... they are very susceptible to it and often will have an infection that they have partial immunity to that doesn't show any white spots... this is why they recommend QT, personally I don't have the time or patience for QT and maintaining a separate tank just for that purpose...

yellow tangs are pretty hardy... but they're also more aggressive so should be added after your other tangs...

and yeah good move on getting rid of that carpet anenome, those things are monsters... cool looking but they'll eat anything... in fact the only fish i've ever had die in my tank got eaten by aiptasia...

i was pretty set on getting a green BTA, but now i'm reconsidering it...

Houdini, my yellowtail damsel has done it again. I could not find him anywhere this morning. I had to work today so I didn't have much time to search. When I got home I found him in the sump. I spent a few minutes trying to catch him and gave up. He can stay there for a while.

LOL...mine has never been a problem, but maybe because he is still so small. He was tiny when I got him and is still under an inch.

Houdini is now back in the display tank. It took me nearly 10 minutes to catch him, but my wife really likes him so I did it for her. I also picked up a few grenn chromis. I had intended to get 5 of them, but ended up with 4 and something that looks kind of like them but a little different and none of the blue/green shimmer. He's really kind of plain looking but he seems to think he is one of the gang.

I also took care of the aiptasia tonight(I hope). I used a needle to inject lemon juice into them. I only found two of them. I hope it takes care of them. I read that you should inject into the base of them, but as soon as the needle touched them, there was no base left to see so I just kind of stabbed it in the middle.

The lights are out for the night now so I'll have to wait to take pics.

I am now down to one fish, my yellow watchnam goby. I think I may have a mantis shrimp in my tank. I heard some popping noises tonight and fish have been disappearing at a steady pace.

I spent all morning cleaning out the tank and rocks looking for a possible mantis shrimp. I did not find a mantis but I did find a small pistol shrimp that I had thought was long gone so that must have been the noise I was hearing. The best I have been able to figure out is that I have been dealing with a couple of different problems, aside from the carpet anemone that ate at least one fish for sure. I think a few of the fish suffered from ich and I also think that one of the emerald crabs decided he liked fish better than algae and started killing fish at night while they slept.

you scare me about the emerald crab! i hope mine doesn't do that, he's been MIA for 24hrs now, only had him for 48 hours, hopefully to eat the bubble algae. Sorry to hear about only having one fis, must be a bit frustrating to put all this time, money and effort into the new tank, and now pretty much everyone is dead
