So is this going to be the thread that you say whatever, in?

OK here goes,
I've had, what feels, like a hair in my ear, tickling the inside, for more than a month. I've dug with everyting in there to get it out, even had my son look into the dark hole with a flashlight, to no avail. There's nothing there.

What are your suggestions?

Well dear boy, considering that you acknowledge my allknowingness I will endeavour to assist

1. Maybe you have an insect in your ear! A cockroach or and earwig come to mind. Try getting your son to coax it out with some food. Either that or spraying some insecticide ( like DDT ) in your ear may help

2. You could also have Tinnitus, which is a ringing in the ears that can be accompanied by muscle spasms.

3. A recent attack of common cold can lead to cattarrah in the eashtachian tube i.e the tube connecting the nasopharynx and the middle ear. This can lead to similar symptoms as your's. so it is better to get examined by a ENT Specialist .

4. Maybe you are getting old and you have those big thick hairs growing in your ears, this is similar to the hairs currently growing out of your nose, you know,the ones that make you look like you have a family of Tarantulas living up there Liberal applications of a cigarette lighter may help
