I'm most likely going to buy a used Deltec MCE600 HOB skimmer. I run Chemi Pure Elite in a TLF reactor and was wondering if using the Deltec's media chamber would be just as efficient?

Also looking for owners to chime in with their good/bad exp with their MCE600's.

    Thanks,
    Joe

I would automatically assume a media chamber in a skimmer wouldn't be as efficient as a separate media reactor but I could be wrong. It wouldn't hurt to give it a shot if you already have the reactor as well. If it doesn't do what it says go back to the media reactor!!

    MCE600 owner myself

I have had 2 of these skimmers over the course of the years and to be honest was that happy with them, that if I was looking for another HOB skimmer , Id almost certainly go for another MCE600

Easy to set up, easy to adjust to get foam density you want (wet or dry) easy to clean
and not had any problems with any of the 2, I have owned

I ran carbon in the chamber in a mesh pouch, never tried GFO or other media so cant comment
