Deltec MCE600

are the Deltec MCE600 easy to install and get running? is it a matter of plug and Go! ?

or do i need to fill it of water first? im not sure as i have never had one and i am about to purchase one.

 

Wow - expensive, but what an excellent skimmer IMO

Its really simple to set up

You do need to fill it with water, you cant overfill it, the excess water just runs out the overflow to the tank

you have 2 things only to adjust - the air intake valve- to give you more of less bubbles
and the height of the black box - collection cup - the higher that box is fixed the drier the foam you get

If you have the box low, you get wet skim, which means QTY of water to waste is high, and the skimmer collection box is easy to clean

if you raise the box, you get very dry foam, very little water, and the box requires a bit more of a cleaning

I like to run mine dry as I like a high waste versus minimal water removal

Excellent skimmer. Considered the best of the HOT skimmers. I would have one if it wasn't for the cost.

From what I have read, you need to keep the unit clean to keep it running well and starting properly.

 

I have the MCE 300 it took me 5 minutes to get running. I origanly bought a red sea berlin x2 (bad idea ) but htese skimmers are amazing they pull alot of waste out of the water. They also are fool proof meaning you cant flood your living room or anything like that. All i did was plug the cord in and fill it with water and open air valve. Id definately recommend it
