I had only 1 trick or treater! And we have tons of kids in our neighborhood. But, we have had a few kidnappings in our area that past few years. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

    More candy for me!!!

We normally have around 200 visitors for candy.

This year we had a whole 37 children :(.

Man, I hear everyone I know saying that. We had maybe 15 kids at the door tonight, total. No really young kids at all, mostly 12+. There used to be so many just a couple years ago that I would sit on a chair at the door for a couple hours handing out candy, because by the time I went anywhere in the house there would be another knock.

I think it has to do with the culture of fear that's arisen in this country lately. Everything is scary and unknown, and everything is blown out of proportion by the media. It's not even safe to go trick or treating with the parents standing with the kids, is how I see the mindset. I know plenty of people who went with their young kids, but they all went to the mall this year, because of "safety and security" nonsense.

Not one single trick or treater. Most of the people go to the Zoo (Boo at the Zoo), The mall, or another shopping center that has a ton of vendors hand out treats. My community also tends to celebrate holidays that fall on Sunday on Saturday instead.

Nah,it comes back to ya,it's just through your kids eyes, and when you see thier faces.I lost the spirit for holidays long ago, never being the same again, yet having a kid brings it all back and you'll find it even better than when you were a kid.

We only had maybe a dozen or so trick or treaters. All but a couple were 12+ and rude, very few "trick or treat" and only a few "thank you". We used to have a blast with this holiday, but it's not the same anymore.

Man, we bought 4-5 HUGE bags of candy and it was all gone in 35mins. There were hundreds of kids trick or treating in my neighborhood. At one point I figured there were fifty people on my front lawn... crazy busy night.
