I've had my MP20 for about a week now and so far love it. I have it on Reef Crest mode which continously changes the rate of speed and duration the propeller runs. Since it is very random I would have to video for some time for you to see the gamut of changes so here's just a short example. I chose to put it where it is based on my coral placement. You don't want it directly hitting the corals as it is very strong. This pump is rated from 500 to 2000 gph depending on how you set the controller. I have it set at about 3/4 of the maximum of 2000 (you turn a small knob) so based on choosing the Reef Crest setting it slows down and speeds up pushing water from the 500 gph to all points inbetween and up to my maximum setting, randomly.

I also tried out the two "pulse" settings that allow you to make waves. It works, but I didn't feel like it was doing that much for my tank vs using the Reef Crest or Lagoon settings. Maybe with two Vortechs at opposite ends it would be more effective.

It was EXTREMELY easy to install - took just minutes. You can not hear it at all. When I first plugged it in my head was in my tank stand and I thought it didn't go on. But then I looked at my tank and WOW, did I stir things up. If you put your ear right next to the motor you can hear that it is running, but you do not hear it over ambient room noise or over my sump noise. Click on the link to see the video. I hopes this helps anyone thinking about getting this pump.

Thanks. I was toying with the idea of getting a MP40 because it is stronger, but I was actually worried about the placement as most of my corals are permanently grown out on my main rock, not frags that I can move easily. I was concerned about the flow being too strong for corals close to it. However I can also upgrade this to an MP40 if I want to later. So after I've had it for a while I'll determine if I'll go in that direction. I may also play with the other settings more and maybe move it up or down some. Lot's of options to play with!
