Just be aware that if there is any power outage for any period of time that is not brief, you can have serious tank crashing possibilities with a denitrator coil.

The last guy that tried one in our local club took it off once he had a power outage because he probably would have crashed his 180g ++ setup if he had not taken it offline when the power returned.

First off how did your dog get your starfish ;D

That's a good point especially if you have a pump on it. I think that it is possible that the water in the coil can foul as quick as six hours. So that would mean bigger would not be better, and with that thought process gravity over a pump.

Although more coils wont hurt, there is a point where they are not doing anything other then lighting your wallet. There job is to strip the oxygen out and there is only so much of that. Tangster says that the 1/4 RO tubing is more then enough with 50 feet and I'd put money on most of his advice.

if you dump your outlet from your CD into carbon or close to the intake of your skimmer where it will either be filtered or oxygenated it will narrow your chances of it fouling your water.

It is from my BIG tank, the Pacific Ocean at a beach near Mendocino CA ;)

Farley was VERY interested in the starfish. I have a whole series of digital and 35mm pics from that find. My GF and I hauled our 2 dogs, and my sportbike out to CA and Oregon last year for 2 weeks in May-June. it was a very memorable trip, considering Farley is from the Oregon Coast originally.

Every year we go to Mendocino, and this past summer we took everything, even my bike so I got to ride all the fun roads through the redwoods and along the coast. Eventually we will move back there once we retire. My GF is from the Bay Area originally, then Portland after that for 12 years.

I guess if you run the denitrator in the return, you would mitigate any issues, but these devices usually make more issues than they fix. JM 2 pennies.
