50 gal sump, 120 gal display.....

I thought about making the fuge larger but since i wont be doing an ATO initially thought more room for return might be better. Let me know what ya'lls opinions on this are - otherwise comments are solicited on the overall design...

    Is there two drains?
    What skimmer are you planning

Your username is making me hungry. I just might have to break out the thermapen!

+1 on the thermapen - I used to own a BBQ Restaurant, still cook it just for myself and fam though. Still try to compete now and again. ;-)

Probably going with a SC220 - it will be overkill - im within my sizes well enough... Yes two overflows coming out of a glass-holes.com 1500 overflow kit. They recommend not merging them, but said it would be ok to T off one towards the end to control the flow in the fuge. The inlet on the fuge side is so I am not kicking up sand, etc from the fuge...

    My question mainly is -

Is my fuge going to be big enough, and with this design overflowing into the fuge will I get enough circulation down deep in the fuge for the cheato to effectively take the nitrates out?
I can always make the fuge a tad longer but have also read you dont want it to be TOO big either...

    Thanks
    Tom

I'm cookin up a butt and a few slabs of spares for some friends coming over for the fight this weekend.

What size return pump? You might just be able to redirect all the flow from one of the drains to the fuge side.

Ive not fully decided but was thinking like a mag 12 for the return... I thought about that also since im going to have the inlet, just running one to one side and one to the other, i wanted it split to control the flow though to the fuge to keep it much lower and they do not recommend ball valving either of the overflow downtubes to get it to run properly -

I think everyone is hungry for some good BBQ now :) LOL I know I am..... I love good brisket - when we did KCBS competitions, Brisket was always what we did best in - I always made sure to put some sweet and sticky burnt ends in the box for the judges haha
