detritus in fuge

    i added live rock to mine which came with a load of snails and bristle worms. They seem to keep it relatively clean.

    Get a couple hermits in there, they should be able to clean it out. My fuge has more snails and critters than most have in their display tank hehe. They like it

    I also use a small CUC in my fuge. the detrus is quickly consumed... I feel its the best way to go

    I would put some mechanical filtration in the way, like a sock or a pad. I think it does contribute to nitrates but sometimes the fuge will use it as fast as it is produced.
