So I recently got a diamond goby in my tank and it's sifting sand non stop and all the detrius and little residues are floating around everywhere in my tank.. My water WAS crystal clear and in pristine condition but now it doesn't look as clear because my goby is always sifting and all the residues and detrius is just going everywhere.. tested my water and parameters are still perfect ammonia 0 nitrate 0 and nitrite 0.. any suggestions? I already put in a small aquaclear with sponge to trap some of the residue and detrius.. :s

Honestly, there is nothingmuch you can due to stop it from sifting the sand that's what they are known to do kinda like a lawnmower blenny :-/ They will do that, but if you are talking about any suggestions to clear up the water clarity I have no answer for you.. sorry! Hope it clears up and he stops being so darn messy! :p

just give it some time, it's actually a good thing that he's doing the tank will clear up in a couple of weeks, as far as them sifting sand over the top of everything tough.. that will never end, my dragon goby sifts non-stop except for when I put food in

It should clear up. My YellowHead sleeper goby sifts sand all day long. The fine parts that may cloud water will eventually be skimmed/filtered out. Got a pic of how bad it is? Mine never was really that bad , but not as clear as normal for sure. The water clearity isn't what bothers me.. it's that he is always dropping sand on my bottom corals.

+1. Eventually, all those fine particles will no longer be in the sand bed. Actually a good thing, which is why a lot of us desire some form of sand sifter. If you want to speed up the clearing a little HOB filter will help a lot.

or add a filter pad or something, what I did when I had a cloudy issue in my 90 gallon, I put a carbon pad where the water comes out of the pipe on the sump and wedged some in the sump where the water goes into the filter chamber
