    Hello fellow reefers,
I had a diamond goby for 3 months and he was awesome now he is gone :-[.

I had to take my canopy down for 2 weeks to switch my lights over to t5 and paint the inside white, and noticed that my goby did not really like lights out he was barely coming out and barely eating and for the last few days have not seen him so I think he is gone:-[.

So of course I want another goby I loved him he was so active but I also like the color of the yellow watchman goby but I have heard that they hide more.

So I would like your feed back on witch one do you like the best and why?

Thanks you soooooooo much for your help

i would give your diamond goby more time. he could still show. the fish that sleep in the sand tend to set their own hours. :)

Look around the tank and see if he jumped.
If not, can you arrange the rocks a bit to give him more shade if need be?

If he is still around he will probably get comfortable with the new light. I have a diamond goby in a neo nano with a 150w halide. That is a halide over a tank that is less than 12" deep. He seems unaware of the light intensity and is all over the tank. Eats well too.

I love Diamond Gobies and mine literally saved my tank. My sand was compacted with gas buildup and nasty algae a lot until I would do a little siphoning during water changes. My snails couldn't keep up. The diamond cleaned it all up in less than 2 weeks. When I put fish food in now, all bits that get by the other fish get taken by the goby quickly. I also noticed he will eat Instant Ocean sinking pellets with krill fyi.

Hopefully this is just a transition and he will come out soon for you.

I think watchmen are hit or miss, I had a yellow watchmen that picked a cave upfront in my tank and followed my finger, he was by far my favorite fish. He died :( after about a year. So I just recently got a new one for my 56 and he picked a cave on the side of the tank and rarely comes out besides feedings.

Nop, i even looked behind the tank, and in my sump. Usually you can see the sand looks all disturb but my sand has been smooth for almost a week now. I am really sad.

Thats what i thought with the watchmen i love his color but if he hide a lot i will go get another diamond goby.

    Thanks guys
