I have had a watchman for at least 8 years. Mine is all over the tank. Has her cave that she will run to when scared, but spends most of the day cleaning sand, protecting her cave and collecting hermit crabs. This is by far everyones favorite fish in the tank since she will come show you her big mouth and then have a stare down. This is one hardy fish. Has lived through 3 tank crashes and 1 tank electrocution. Would have given up on this hobby a long time ago if it wasn't for this fish.

i think he is referring more to the skimmer's reaction to a decaying fish than your fish actually getting in the skimmer. correct me if i am wrong, Matt.

Yes that is what I mean. :) Since you skimmer went nuts I think your goby died somehow and then your inverts, etc.. got the scraps. Sorry for your loss. :p

Why does the skimmer react to a dead fish?
Also when I empty my skimmer cup the other day it stunk baddddd is it because of my dead goby?

you might be able to get away with a watchman and a diamond depending on your bioload. as far as gobies go i love the gecko goby but they're really small ( 1.25") so it'd probably get lost in your tank
