I bought a diamond watchman goby from the LFS that they had for a few weeks and I saw eat. I QT'd him for 2 weeks, looked good and into the DT. Now 10 days later, he looks good, not skinny at all, but I have yet to see him eat and my sand looks the same as ever. Should I be concerned?

I have tried putting mysis right outside of his den, burying some, and dropping pellets in his vicinity, with the same result; he looks at me like I am crazy.

    My params are:
    amm, trite, trate 0.0
    phos .5
    Cal 460
    Ph 8.3
    DKH 10
    SG 1.025
    Temp 78.8
I just ordered a mag test kit however I doubt that is something to be concerned with. As I am typing this I am starting to feel like I am being a worry-wort... Maybe I should just wait it out?

everything looks good, i would not worryyyy toooo much, it may still be stressed out. I got a goldne headed sleaper 8 months or so ago...He did not eat for the 1st week or a little more while he was adjusting to the tank.

Gobies get their nutrition from sifting the sand. As long as he is not skinny, he should be fine.

I think that is the cause of my concern, he hasn't touched the sand. Just hangs out all day. I am hoping he will eat when he is hungry...

When I got mine he pretty much hid for about 2 weeks, didn't seem him eat or touch the sand but now he cruises the tank all day eating sand and still comes out to eat when I feed the tank.

I wouldn't worry. I have a diamond who wasn't active at first and now he buries everything. Constantly sifting, digging and borrowing. Lol. I want to flush him almost every other day. Eventually your goby will also eat mysis too.

Sweet thanks for the help! With that said, I will probably wake up to 1/2 bare bottom and 1/2 DSB in my tank.

My last one took a while to feed - then he out did the other fish to get the food. I say give it a bit more time too.
