My lil diamond Goby as soon as i put him in the tank from getting him started sifting away. Its always a possibility that he has dug a hole under a rock and is eating the sand in the privacy of what he feels is home at night while your sleeping!

Good point. The burrow could be a priority. :)

I've had mine for 8 months. He is a punk. He is getting better then he used to be. I now have a few more things in the SB then before. He is a busy guy. Have you tried krill or frozen cyclopeze? San Francisco Bay Brand Cyclops 3.5oz (100g) Cube

Yea. Mine too and he burrows under almost every coral thats on the sand. My brain almost every day sinking half of it and then I end up having to get my hand in the tank and fix it. He also buried my flower pot while I was gone for a few days and killed half of it. I was pissed cuz it was the size of a soft ball! Lol. Oh well, it's slowly growing back.

haha. I just moved a few corals off the sand because of this fish. And when I was away for a while he covered up a whole rock of GSP and smothered it to death. Just glad it was GSP and not a more favored coral. I love the way he keeps the sand stirred up, but I think with my next tank ill try Nassarius Vibex snails to stir the sand.

my diamond goby is probably the most interesting character in the tank. i love it when he evicts snails and hermit crabs from his lair. Of course the only coral i have low enough for him to bother are a couple of plate corals and they are able to move the sand off of themselves.

Lol. Yea. We just got our new tank and he almost got kicked from it but I'm hoping that with more space he can stick to one area and not be so neurotic. He does do well with munching on the sand all the time so im crossing my fingers. I did get a couple nassarius snails and they are cool but don't come out unless they smell food plus you would need a ton to really get the sand moving. I think if you had enough then they would help out too.
