Well, now my diamond watchman goby didn't eat this morning. And he was acting a little "drunk." I haven't seen him all day now since he went under a rock. How long do these guys live? He was eating cyclop-eeze flake and frozen food. My tank is 2 months old with all DIY rock and dead sand. Maybe it was a mistake to get him so soon? I just hope theres nothing wrong with my system. I really don't want to lose my clownfish.

Had your tank completely cycled? and your levels are good? I think gobies probably live about as long as many other fish (I could be very wrong). Mine was a bit shy in the beginning and hung out in the back of the tank for a while. He now does still spend some time in his tunnel.....I wouldn't worry too much if your tank was cycled and your levels are good....how long have you had him? If he's new, could still be acclimating to your system.

You really need live sand and get the tank established befor getting a diamond goby as they are sand sifters and feed mostly on bacteria and pods in the sand. Try adding a few bags of live pods. I use algagen pods and they have worked very well for me. My sleeper goby is getting fat.

You might try sticking some food down in the sand close to where he hangs out. If there is no fauna in the sand for him to sift out, he is probably starving to death.

I say he is probably starving. They need a ton of food and usually, our supplemental feedings are enough for them. I saw the video of your tank and it's super pristine and I'm afraid it just may be too sterile for the fella

FWIW, my goby eats anything I feed the other fish.....frozen, flakes, pellets....maybe that's unusual. He also does have live sand with some good life in it as well.

Thank you all. I think he starved :( foolish me. Yeah, I have no pods in the tank. I won't even get a yellow watchman goby for some time.
