    Hello from Western Montana :cheesy:
My husband and I and family have lived in Montana for 26 years. I work for a large flood processing center. We have always enjoyed fish aquariums of all types. I am on my second attempt at Saltwater. My first one was a fish only tank, lost all my fish and a large amount of $ to one sick fish, said I would never have another one again and 2 years later, I started up a 90 gal. reef tank and so far so good, with the exception of my Condy Anenome. It doesn't seem to be happy, not sure what I am doing wrong. After reading one of the post on Anenomes, I think I may have to much light, instead of not enough light. So I join this forum to get expert advice and see what is happening with all the people that share the same enjoyment as We do with fish aquariums. Oh, by the way, I forgot to mention that we also have four 55 gal. freshwater tanks and one other 90 gal. freshwater tank, ALL IN THE LIVING ROOM! ;D Don't panic... we built the house so we know the floor will support ALL that weight. I also have a beautiful blue betta on my desk at work.

hey there. Tell us about your lights. I'm not sure you have too much light for an anemone as that can be pretty difficult to achieve. Tell us about the rest of your system. All of the info you have will help us to help you. (I've always wanted to say that) I also always wanted to be the first to respond.

Ok, well as I said I have a 90 gal., water parameters check out. As for fish I have one Tang, one Coral beauty, 2 maroon clowns, 1 yellow tail blue Damsel, and 2 Firefish that hide out, but come out to feed (had them first, wasn't to wise when I purchased the others. actually all were in harmony until I brought the tang home, then the firefish hide. I have some corel, mushrooms, a chocolate chip starfish, and 1 pencil sea urchin my husband brought home. For lighting I have 1 48" ZooMed OceanSun 10,000K and a large home made four fluoressent light hood with two white and two blue actinic blubs. I don't know anything else about the lights, as I bought it from a lady I work with, she couldn't tell me to much about the lights other than her husband made it and the bulbs were brand new. I also had a bubble tip anemone that my clowns just loved and it was so fun to watch them play in it, but it and my other chony's all seemed to want to go behind the rocks and hide. I have the one left as I mentioned but he doesn't look transluscent like he did when I first got him, his tenicles are one extended and he's kind of a flesh color. Doesn't look healthy like he did when I first got him. I can't swing the cost of a Metal Halide lamp. What do you think I have going on? 2 power heads for fillration.

As I suspected, you dont have enough lighting for those anemones or mature enough tank for them. CC are not recommended for a reef tank. Did you guys do any research before starting on your SW journey? Luna

Not enough light for those types of critters. Losing their color means they are expelling their zooxanthelae in an effort to save energy because of "starvation" from light. That's what it sounds like to me.
