Hey everyone - I have a diatomaceous earth filter I used for my African tank a while back, is it safe to use on a marine aquarium? (Reef). I would like to "polish" the water and get it crystal clear - as I know it can. Thanks in advance. 8)

A diatom filter is one of the best screening filter media you can get.

I would never not have one and its totally safe to use heck the filter media is just bleached diatom skeletons that where buried in dead sea beds . They settle out to the deep oceans bottoms in nature..

I used one on my first tank years ago. Should be fine.
