I have finished the diatom phase. But to combat the problem i cut the light cycle back to six hours and got a few extra snails. My question is should i gradually increase the light cycle or can i go back to factory settings (aquaticlife fixture whichs is 12 hours)

IF you have nothing in the tank besides fish or snails..Then you can just go back to normal lighting time

If you are still cycling you don't even need to have lights on for snails.

What lighting was it previously under and how much are you wanting to raise it? I run my MH over my 29g for about 6-7 hours a day and actinic are 8 hours a
    day

    What lighting do you have?

It is the aquaticlife t5 fixture. Comes preprogrammed with a 12 photoperiod. 8 -11am atinict. 11-7 all four bulbs. 7-8pm atinict. Moon lights 8pm till 4am. The. First week of cycling ran lights about 5 hours a day. Second full program. 3rd week diatoms cut them back to six hours per day. This is the forth week no diatoms on 6 hours. Note tank was cyled with live rocl from previous tank. Added three new pieces though.
