3 days it came out, and its been only a week. Is it normal for this to come out this fast? My cycle is not finished this fast is it?

Diatoms are a sign that things are moving along, but only your test kits can let you know if your cycle is over.Starfish, your tank could be done as it was already an established tank when you got it and with minimal dieoff,it could be done, your test kits will tell you.Mkizla, your tank is a new setup that will require an ammonia spike to start your cycle and populate the tank with bacteria. It will not be complete until your ammonia is back at testing 0,nitrites back at 0,and nitrate at least under 15ppm.HTH.

Shouldn't the nitrites be zero in order for it to be done cycling?
