    Keep the lighting hours down, consider getting hermits crabs, make sure that your nitrates are at 0, your test kit could be false.

    It will go away on it's own once all of the silicates are consumed. About all you can do is wait. In the mean time, you can blast it with a turkey baster, but that only makes it aesthetically pleasing.

    I had the same frustration. My diatoms just finally went away...it took 4 weeks :angry:
