    Well I fed the fish one final time before they fast, and I have covered it all with black trash bags, let the torture begin!

    while i have my tank covered i was thinking of replacing my GFO media and increasing the pump because the one i have isn't even tumbling any of the media ever. Thoughts?

    be sure to keep an eye on your PH make sure you have something providing oxygen cause having covered like you do looks like there will be little room for gas exchange

    also keep an eye on your temp, mine increased by 5 degrees from 79 to 84 so just a heads up

    Uncovering the tank tomorrow, any tips for post blackout treatment?

    You may want to do a water change because of the die off/release of nutrients from the dead cyano =D. Good luck!
