That Q has many answers, some like to mimic NSW and some like too push the envelope. I personaly tried doing the "pushing the envelope" way and all I did was chase my tail. So I just try to keep my # as follows;
Cal.....380-450
Mag....1250-1450
Alk/Dkh....2.5-4.0/9-12
Temp....77-79
Sg.....1.023-1.025

The reason some ppl like high numbers is b/c they want thier corals to grow faster. Like I said, I tried that, but all I did was pull my hairs out and spend alot of money. Remember that when you bring one element up, the other one goes down. My numbers are lower than other ppl's, but Iam not in a hurry. Hope this has answered your Q. Luna

My levels are kept as follows:
Cal...450
Mg...1500
Alk...11
Temp...78
Sg...1.024
of course these vary slightly in between dosing but I feel comfortable with them and everything is looking great!!
