Did I do a mistake?

I have a 120 gallon tank. Cycle it with a Damsel and maybe 10 lbs of live rock. I had a ammonia spike and everything settle. all my params where at 0 for 3 weeks after the 5 weeks cycle.

I bought 2 clown fish and put them in there doing great.
I had order 50 lbs of base rock and they came in, washed them and then put it in the tank.
I decided to test my params the next day and the ammonia is at 0.25 and as been for 3 days now.Am i cycling again or did I stir up to much stuff in the tank. What is going on?

I was taking my time so I thought.

I did not even do a water change yet and now what should I wait?

 

I prob would also you might wanna get rid of the damsel

 

also never cycle tanks with fish. there is no need and just wrong in my opinion. your tank will start to cycle with live rock or just by putting a raw table shrimp in the tank.

I know it did the first cycle but why would it spike again after I put those base rock in it ?

 

its not the rock its cause you added the clowns

 

The addition of the clowns and possibly there was something on the rock, you may have also stirred up something from the gravel.

It isn't much of a spike and it should go away quickly. Feed lightly to keep fraom adding to the spike.

there could of been some die off from the rock you put it, was the rock dry or wet when you got it?
