Did I do this correctly? The right side is my return into the refugium and the left is my pump. Did I put too much bend in the pump tube?

Not really. I was shown doing it this way, so that's what I did. Should I have used PVC instead?

    Thanks.

Yeah looks good, how are you taking the water form the tank? do you have a valve so you can slow it down if need be?

i would definitely install a gate valve on the input from the tank and make sure you create some sort of anti-siphon mechanism on the return pump side. this can be accomplished by simply drilling a hole in your u-tube return in the tank just under your desired water level.

Well, not really, I think thats a matter of pref. But you should have install some ball valves on both hoses. Luna

    Well here it is running.

With the pump on, the water level in the refugium comes to the top of the piece of blue tape. With the pump off and left for a few minutes, the water level reaches the top piece of blue tape. It seems to be running fine, but I want to put a gate valve on the pump side.

i would put a gate valve on the input not the pump side. if you turn your pump down too much it will eventually burn up.

I plan on putting a skimmer in there eventually when I get fish. There is too much water movement?
