Did my Maxi Mini kill my Peppermint Shrimp?

    The shrimp may attack, but size differential can determine who actually wins. Your nem is pretty big compared to the shrimp.

    I guess things just happen sometimes. The Nem is about 3.5 inches across. Sorry to hear that, Ingtar. Was the Maxi Mini alright?

    I've had it go both ways, too... I lost a ball-tip and rock flower nems to peps, but I've also lost cleaner and coral banded shrimp to nems when they tried to steal it's food.

    Well then they obviously don't like each other :p

    I was going to get some sort of fish, but now I've changed my mind. Maybe I'll get an Anemone Crab. Are they out much during the day? Are they aggressive?

    Yeah its fine, Unfortunately it did not kill any shrimp though.

    Why not put the pep shrimp in your fug or in another tank and take care of them. And of you apista prop comes back put them back in the tank

    every try to catch a shrimp from and established reef? Its easier than a fish in some ways but harder in my reef.

    I have to agree with Alex twice in the same day.
    My Peppermint shrimp enthusiastically munched down my Maxi-mini's in about 72 hours once they decided they tasted better than aiptasia.
