I'm wondering how many people confirmed the rumors that T5 and MH is better than PC before buying their lights. I say "rumors" not because I think PC lighting is better, but because everything is a rumor until you confirm it yourself.

I'll be the first to admit I took everyone's word for it.

As long as your here you might as well go look at this as well:

Just to comment on the poll in relation to your other thread. Technically until you have a PAR meter and tons of equipment, bulbs, ballasts, reflectors etc to test with you're always going to be taking someone else's word for it. There is lots of partially accurate, or inaccurate information out there, and even accurate information can be misinterpreted, and partially accurate info can be interpreted so it seems completely accurate, so even having a list of references isn't actually confirming it yourself.

Interesting poll. My problem was that I did not take everyone's word, and bought a PC fixture. The light was exceptionally dim compared to my current T5 fixtures. I realize this is subjective, given my lack of a PAR meter, but it is definitely true.

From that point of view nothing anyone ever sees can be confirmed as they have not tested it in a controlled lab condition. Everything has anomalies and must be tested in bulk to have conclusive evidence. It's because of this that viable sources are the only real option for the average person to draw any conclusions on any subject.

Polls just make everything look so black and white. :)

I'm more of a shade of grey type person.

lol me too. I just like to look deep into things and make people think a bit. If nothing else I hope this gives more incentive to look into things more before buying.
