Hi everyone! It's been awhile since I have posted. My tank is going good. It's been hard to upgrade lighting with our money situation. I'm sure many of you are feeling that crunch. Anyway, it's good to talk to anyone who cares........

    So, here's where I'm at......

As you may recall, my previous thread, http://www.3reef.com/forums/new-hobby/newest-photos-questions-48763.html#post446787, shows the initial look of my 75 gallon tank. My next step was to buy better lighting... Well, I'm still waiting. Here are the latest photos. My biggest disappointment is the failure of me to buy new lighting due to monetary constraints. But, I'm getting all kinds of growth, and I think some polyps are forming. It looks like this:

I'm posting this because, I'm getting a big green algae buildup on my purple. I've had some good polyps starting, 2-3 inches in diameter.

So, here are some pics to feast your eyes upon.... (I tried to capture the green in several pictures, this is it.... Sorry, but the tops of the purple are all green)

    Here's my Tang:

I've had him for 6 months. He hangs out with me while I'm knitting (maroon recliner next to the tank, he's really a gem. My recliner where I knit is at his corner. No kidding, He's checking me out.... )

My green algae is increasing, any advice? Today, I bought some additional turbo snails and some blue legs. I also have a LOT of other snails and crabs. Someone said a cowrie, any opinions? Any suggestions?

    Thanks, Uvajed

Haha my Sailfin loves to check me out too. He is always right there whenever I go up to the tank and will follow me back and forth. Always right in my face like a dog when I'm trying to check out the tank.....lol

    Welcome Back..
My Sailfin also checks me out.. And can tell when I pick up the fish food to feed him..
    He'll start shakeing.. LOL

What type of lights do you have..? How old are the bulbs..?
You may be able to use a turkey baster to remove some off your corals..
But let us know about your lights..

    Good Luck, Larry
