Ok, so I have two acan colonies but besides the color they also have another difference. My largest colony is more like individual heads that are all smashed together but I can definitely tell that the ones around the edges are individual heads coming out of a common skeleton. The other acan is more like a single entity, heads and skeleton. So, does anyone know what the difference species are or where each one comes from?

The commonly available acans are Acanthastrea Lordhowensis, Acanthastrea Echinata and Acanthastrea Bowerbanki. Acan Lords have individual polyps. the Echinata is more of an encrusting species and the Bowerbanki has very large polyps.
