I won a 70W HQI light pendant at the WAMAS winter meeting and decided to supplement my 400W pendent, but boy can you see the difference!

full tank shot I posted this morning... notice the right side is a bit dark.

So your telling me my 400w Metal Halide is nothing in comparison to a 70w HQI?

lol, no, I think you got it backwards :) The 70w HQI 14k bulb has a very yellow look to it compared to a 400w 14k reeflux bulb, I was hoping the 70w would blend in with the other just to get some light on the right side.

didn't work, I need to find a different solution.

Ahhh, I get it now. Bummer. Was the color temp on the bulb for the 70w the same as your 400?

That is an advertising thing, some 14K bulbs are blue and some are yellow and so on. Try to match brands.

yeah, I won the fixture at the locall reef club meeting a few weeks ago and was hoping I could use it as is but I guess i'll need to spend a few bucks on a better bulb.

I wouldn't call it a better bulb just one that matches your needs.

The aqua medic brand doesn't seem to have a very good reputation.
I have a 1/10 HP Aqua Medic Chiller and it can't even chill a 10gal tank properly.
