Thanks, I was considering doing it before and decided not to due to the fact that when i examined other stands, they were constructed this way. Even after construction I still questioned the structural integrity of this method and was considering adding extra load bearing supports. With you stating this, I think i will go do it right away as opposed to thinking it over some more lol

These are my thoughts on the stand, the setup you have looks ok but it would be a DISASTER to have your stand buckle a month from now because it couldn't handle the stress from all the weight. My dad used to be a general contractor building houses so he understands all the stress factors/weight displacement for things like stands. Here is a rough sketch of the design he used to help me build my stand. My tank weighs roughly 1400 pounds loaded and is sitting about 4 feet off the ground. Any questions let me know! Also attached is the stand as is now... I still have to attach the crown molding to the upper edge of the side panels to cover the gap.

Lookin great man. I like that you started with a refugium right off the bat. That should help everything stay stable through the cycle. What size return pump are you using?

Looking good I am glad someone else saw that stand just add some 2x4's and you will be good. Better safe then sorry... I don't think those screws could hold the 1000 lbs weight for long... Other then that nice tank size and build!
