Dinner Party for my CUC...

Ok, well I had cut a small piece of silverside off and was going to put it at the opening of my Tiger Pistol's cave in hopes to lure him out for a quick bite.

well....

What happened was a zombie snail emerged right next to what I was doing and shifted it away from his cave then a herd of hermit crabs rushed in and somehow shoved the snail into the pistol's cave and wedged it into the door.

A peppermint shrimp came and dog piled on top all the while a hermit crab was kicking it in the head... in the end there were like 10 different creatures piled on this little piece of fish 6 hermits, 1 peppermint, 3 snails and finally the emerald crab came along and must have started whipping on them all because it ended up on top of the pile in victory with the piece of fish.

the pistol shrimp ended up with a few sinking spectrum pellets dropped into its cave.

as a side note the pistol did come to the top of the entrance long enough to see the melee and went back inside.

 

Any tips on getting that food to the pistol without the dinner bell being rang?

 

O.K. I am officially confused. I just answered your other post were you say you tossed a piece of fish in there to get your ammonia up. Is this tank cycled?

 

sounds like u are trying to feed a shrimp. but every thing els is so hungry it attacked it first?

 

Vinny - I have four tanks, 29G Salt, 45G salt, 45G fresh, 10G fresh.

That sums it up pretty well, but they certainly aren't starving as they get some target fed sinking pellets and mysid shrimp just for the CUC as I don't feed the two clowns too much.

 

Well that explains my confusion.LOL;DYou might try throwing some pellets in at the opposite side of the tank and allow all the snails and such get to it and begin feeding. Then try to feed the shrimp.8)

 

That's what I do. I feed and get everyone otherwise occupied, while at the same time the smell of the food reaches the pistol, who comes to the opening. Then I spot feed him. Usually he drags enough into his burrow so that when everyone else comes along (the hermits know I put food over there and make a beeline as soon as food hits the tank LOL), he's managed to get some already.
