I have had dino now and all my sand is turning green. I tried keeping the lights on for 4 hours a day for 2 weeks with no success. I considered the ph method but my ph is already 8.4 so I am assuming they aren't the ph type. These things are driving me insane I can even enjoy my tank this stuff is annoying me and all because of a lawnmower blenny i bought from a store that has it but I missed that the first time. I'm really considering removing all the sand in my tank and going bare bottom for a while. What do you guys think?

My phospates are pretty close to 0 as I'm using chaeto. I may invest in a phosphate reactor tho.

You probably won't get a phosphate reading as they are VERY efficient at removing phosphorus from the water column. Your nitrates are likely going to be reading less too. Siphon it out and leave the light off for a couple of days.

I had Dino for about 3 months then i could not take it any more and i tour down the tank and started over. I tried everything i raised the ph, i created a algea scrubber, I bought a phosphate reactor, I did a 50% water change, then i tried the no water change method so i stopped doing water changes for about a month and nothing worked it just got worse. But on the other hand i know people who have gotten ride of it after a few months. Its up to you but I nuked all my rock and my tanks and i will tell you what it feels realy nice to come home to a clean take its just alot of work and all of your fish need a new home and all of your coral is trash jmo.

i had a bad dino problem, but corrected it with the following. get a phosphate reactor and turn the lights off for a week straight. complete darkness. i think i was doing 10% water changes every other day with RO/DI water. my clam and corals were find after.
