I have a bag of phosban in my sump and has my PO4 at a big old GOOSE EGG!! as theres room for the water to flow around as well it will prevent the blowing out of the phosban just rinse it good and make sure the bag is tight.

I got the phosban running now. Algae seems to have died on its own, I only ran the lights for 3 hours per day. It's just grayish in the areas the algae was. Still not completely gone.

But does anyone know how often I should replace the phosban the first time? And then how often after the first time?

Phosban generally should be replaced when your phosphates start rising or you start seeing algae, or for a safe bet about every two months I believe

Dinos look like snot with bubbles attached. It is not uncommon to get them from time to time.

Hey guys. Algae has gotten a lot better. The phosban helps a ton! The back wall is still covered. I just want to make sure it's not Dino's because I'm not sure to be honest. I still see a patch of cyano, but not sure what the brown stuff is.[IMG]

    Thank you!

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
That does not look like Dino to me at all.

Congrats on getting the algae issue cleared up.

I tried wiping it off but it is not coming off easily. Could it just be because the tank is so new and it will go away in time?

Thanks! I'm hoping it doesn't come back! Sand bead and rocks are looking good, coralline algae is taking over :)
