It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sorry to hear of the Royal Gramma, one of my favorite fish.

Sounds like you have a good plan, very similar to what I did minus the hydrogen peroxide.

Well, evidently my gbta wasn't happy with the lower lighting situation as he moved around ever since I took the cover off on Wednesday. This morning I woke up onky to find pieces of him floating around the tank, when I looked in my filter my worst fears were realized, there he was all chopped up stuck in some chaeto that is in the filter.

No signs of the dinos returning which is a good thing I suppose but at what cost?...

Double bad news :( Sorry for your troubles. In all seriousness, if I can catch my Royal Gramma, you can have him. He is a beast to his tankmates (male and female Lubbocks Fairy Wrasse and a sand sifting goby). I was going to return him to the LFS, but they would only give me partial credit anyways.

Honestly I'm not sure I want something that aggressive in there, my last RG was a modeled citizen.

No problem, figured I would throw it out there. He was my first add, so I am sure that had something to do with it. Good luck moving forward!

well I thought everything was going well, I slowly ramped up my lighting watched for bubbles forming on the rocks every night, suctioned out what I could find/get which there wasn't much and eventually I stopped seeing bubbles

I turned on my daylights at 10% I'm in day 5 of having the daylights on and there are bubbles forming everywhere and the snotty stuff is starting to form again.

I'm at a loss of where I should go from here, should I do another blackout? Am I at the point now where I don't have a choice but to pull out and scrub the rocks?

I'm open to suggestions as to where I should go from here if anyone has them.

at first I was thinking that I didn't have one but then I remember that I got a perfect shot of this stuff while taking a picture of some of my zoas

its all the stringy, snotty looking stuff with the bubbles all of over it, it tends to stay with in 2 or 3 of my rocks but I can see that its starting to spread
