    I just recieved my chaeto and I wanna make sure I don't get pests so I was wondering how I could avoid that. Also there are these things in them

    Red things and what looks like poo. Sorry I've never had chaeto before and I don't want any hitchikers

    Same. I love hitchhikers. Never had issues with any. The red looks like it could be Gracilaria.

    Ok, well I just popped it in my sump so hopefully we don't get any bad hitchikers

    I dip all my new corals in an iodine bath like Tropic Marin Pro Coral Cure before introducing them into my tank. Understandably I get a bit paranoid about introducing things like flatworms into my display tanks.
