I have had it for about a week. I originally placed it in my tank and it immediately attached to a LR towards the bottom of my tank. All of a sudden I woke up this morning and he was beginning to shrivel up and hide. Now he is practically the size of a large gumball. The only thing I have done in the last 24hrs is a water change and the addition of green frogspawn, rodordia and pulsating xenia. Nothing is near the anenome he has an entire side to himself. My question is this, what is he doing, is he ok, and should I turn off my powerhead if he is on the move? Ideally where should he be placed in my tank? Please help!!!

-My water parameters are as follows
    amm:0
    calc:400
    ph:7.6
    hph:8.2
    nitrate:0
    nitrite:0
    salt:1.024

anything else I should be testing for?

Post a pic of what he looks like all shriveled up. It doesn't sound good to me. How large is it extended?

This is normal. It'll open back up within a day. They will do this almost every day. It probably ate something. They will ball up and then go back to normal then it might even expand way big...... Pretty much they only thing you need to look for is it mushing up or detaching. If it does get mushy, get it out of your tank. If it detaches, some say let it roll around till it fins a new place. I say usually if it detaches, it's gonna die. They will smell HORRIBLE when they start to die and you can sniff the top of your tank(water) and smell it. Still go ahead and post a pic if you can.

I moved your thread to the appropriate forum in the "invert" section.
There are a number of reasons that could cause your anemone to be closed. You are missing some parameter results and your ph readings are a tad confusing to me.
A few off the top of my head:

    • It is still expelling old tank water for your new water still.

    • It is expelling it's zooxanthellae for your new strain that it likes better (this depends on if you have adequate lighting or not).
    • It is expelling it's zooxanthellae and giving up totally.
    • It is going to the bathroom and expelling something that was recently fed to it.
    • It is being anemones usual PITA and keeping the aquarist.
What type of lighting do you have? How established is your system? What are your alkalinity readings? Magnesium readings? How are you reading/displaying your ph?

    Looking better!

Well it is starting to come out again after I located him, he did a disappearing act and shriveled up behind the rock he was on! I moved him to the center of the tank now instead of in the corner.
I am a bit confused what additional parameters result should I be testing for, please advise I am all ears? To be honest I think he was using the bathroom or something. Thanks guys I appreciate it, I'm still learning the hobby. I think I have a bunch of cool things in my tank and I trying to learn everything I can.

STOP MOVING YOUR LTA. it will move again and again till it is in a happy spot. Mine moved on its own... it will deflate all its water out and refill on its own. this is normal. mine do it once a day. it is common for them to do so. if u FORCE move your anemone it may tear the foot. they will move on random b happy for a bit then move again then happy n move till it finds the place it wants to be. Keep movin it to the front may only agrivate it and stress it out when they finda home they will stay there. i have 2 in my tank doin good so far. good luck with your friend

Calcium, magnesium and, anything else you plan on dosing/supplementing on a regular basis.

I'm just afraid it will get sucked up by my 2 koralia power heads. I should it be placed near the top or bottom of my tanks?

That is the chance you take with having an anemone. Never move the anemone itself. If you MUST move it, move the whole rock it's on more to the center of your tank, that way it'll have room to move, left or right and shouldn't be close to the ph's. But really, leave it where it is and keep an eye on it.

    Better yet, Move the Koralia's.
