So I have 5 of the nanotuners par38s over my 65g. So far they have shown great growth and there has been no problems with them.

I'm not happy with the color of the leds and not being able to change the color temp, and also not being able to switch to just blues for the dusk dawn effect.
I've been thinking about selling the whole set up and replacing.
I could trade my current setup for a t5 set up fairly quickly, but I doubt ill be happy with that either.
I don't have extra cash to buy a new led and then sell the par38s so that's not a option.

Am I being to picky? Should I just let it be?

I ended up in the same boat with my par 30s. I still use them, but not as my main light source. Are you considering going with another brand LED if you could switch them?

I don't think your being too picky. I tried to get you to go the rapidled route! You can select your own combinations of led colors, and then further tweak it via dimming. But I know you got a good deal on those par38s.

And I don't think you would be happy at all if you switched to t5. Just my 2cents

Ya if I wouldnt have got such a good deal of the pars I would have went for the rapid kit. Kinda wish I did now lol
I don't think I will be happy with the t5s either but at least I would be able to do dusk dawn and change the color a bit using different bulbs. I guess I'm just kinda looking for that more than anything.

I think a rapid kit would be a good change of pace when you can afford to do so. Utilizing alot of different colors would be to your advantage as well as being able to dim for the sunrise/sunset cycles.

I've been watching that Ecotech Marine Radion it seems so color tweak able. right now i have a halide and really dislike how blue it is. i have bought 3 different brands of bulbs and don't like any. the one i do like needs a different ballast. it has me thinking of going with leds, the radion

I would love a radion. Actually I would need 2 of them. But they are way way out of my price range.

What about switching to t5 plus cash and then saving for a rapid kit? Do you think that would be a smart move?

im in the same not sure area as you. its threads like yours that keep me informed and help me to decide what direction to go. i think i would only need one radion, over a 24 by 24 by 14 deep tank. so its within my ball park to go for it. 2 yikes! hopefully they will come down in price.

i had t5's over my last tank. no sparkle to them but you do have different bulbs to adjust your color. i had 8 bulbs over the tank and ha them coming on 2 ...2 than 4 it gave me a slow up to lighting and a slow down. also had moon lights on it. but always was sorry i didn't go halide for the sparkle.
