Well we moved and the last big thing to move was the tank. Well the power went out at the old house. The power was off for around three days. The only known survivor is one of the blue damsels. It looks like my Zoas might still be alive, although several have what appear to be bubbles near the heads. The kenya tree is dead. Almost all of the clams seem alive. One of the zebra hermits is hanging in there. On the plus side is it looks like all the bristleworms are dead. Guess I get to start all over. Now the upgrade is really out of the question. Oh well live and learn. I have a new clean up crew coming from Reef Cleaners next week.

Im sorry to hear about your tremendous loss. Be sure to get the bristle worms out and do a major water change as they release harmful toxins into the water web they die.

Good luck with it and congrats on the move.

thanks packleader i will do that. I agree this would be the perfect time for an upgrade, but we want to do some home improvments to increase the value of our new home first. So the upgrade is now in an indefinite hold. Pens I think along with the cold that is what killed everything. I did remove the dead worms though. sucked them out with the last if the water before the tank was moved.

power went out because I live in Dayton and it loves doing that. the outage caused the surge protectors to trip so when power came back the tank still didn't get any. Oh and Mike this is I think the 5th or 6th crash I've had since getting into the hobby so I am not going anywhere. :)

what kind of cost would a back up generator involve?
might be a very sound investment, because I assume, you probably fear going for high end/ more demanding corals in case of future episodes of this, thus you never really set you tank up exactly how you would like it just in case you end up losing it again.
