3 weeks ago (I'm guessing) my Koralia Evo 1750 power head quit working and the Condy started moving around a lot. Finally it stared disintegrating last week and looked like a ring with tentacles by the time I found it and pulled it out. The Kenya Trees were literally melting so I pulled as many out as I could thinking that they'd cause a chain reaction by further degrading water quality.
Did a 5 gal. water change added a bunch of premium activated carbon. Then pulled & reactivated the Purigen (took 2 days) so did another 5 gal. water change before adding it back in.
In addition, before I'd noticed the dying Nem, I 'd started vinegar dosing.
Replaced the power head on the 1st.
I'm thinking all this helped in that the Kenya Trees absorbed/filtered out some of the Nem's chemicals and adding the activated carbon and Purigen and water changes and such, plus having healthy growth in the fuge as well as sponges (which all seem unaffected).

So far it looks as though most corals made it....baby Bubbletip (though it was looking like it wouldn't for several days), Duncan, Toadstool, Hammer, Yuma Ricordia & what's left of the Kenya Trees.

It could have been worse as I only lost the Monti.

I find it interesting that the bubble-tip and corals survived and the condy didn't; condy's are usually the easiest by far, thriving in less than stellar conditions including lighting, flow, and even water quality issues. FWIW, my very first nem was a condy in my very first SW tank- a 20g utilizing a HOB and airstone-powered UGF and standard 18w fluorescent light (IOW, no sump, fuge, skimmer, powerheads, or reef lighting), and it thrived extremely well. What's really interesting to note is that in the 7 years I had that tank, the nem never even moved from where I placed it.

Sorry for your losses, and congratulations on the quick actions to save what you could. ;)

Thanks guys & gals. I'm just glad I could.

The bubble has been through a lot and is a tough little bugger.

    Glad to hear. ;)

Contrary to popular belief, a little instability is good as it conditions corals and inverts to tolerate fluctuations.

True...it, the Kenya trees, clown fish & YT Damsel have been through more than a little so I know they're all survivors.
