So far all the fish are doing well in the bin. Unfortunately I don't believe I will be able to fix the seam, fill r up and let r rip. It will have been 3 days since the leak and I feel the micro's have died and I will need to re-cycle the tank. So in the mean time I will need something other than a bin for 4 or so weeks. I was thinking a 10 gal. tank, no substrate, powerhead, a small piece of my LR and most of the salvaged water. My question now is should I put a small HOB wheel filter on? Water change schedule? or am I completely off with this idea? Essentially create a sort of quarantine tank. Don't know...

Thanks for all your help and suggestions.

I think you have all the answers already. Can you say acrylic tank? OMG worst nightmare for sure. I just wanted to offer my condolences. My advice is to kiss your wife and tell her thanks!

I thought my "out of town" tank troubles were bad....WOW, That is a drag, but K+ to the family...it is a very helpless feeling when you got troubles and your so far away....Sounds like its all working out..I guess we can all say at times "it could have been worse"
    Much empathy.
