On the top 3 inches of my 55gal tank there is sort of a white haze, kinda like you see on some windshields in the morning. It doesn't clean off. It looks like it's part of the glass now. One time a while back I had let the water evaporate down a bit, don't know if that had anything to do with it. Anyone here know what I'm talking about or have a remedy? :(

Did you try taking it off with a razorblade?

Yeah, no luck. I scraped it clean and it feels smooth just like the rest of the glass. Like I say it really seems like it's "in" the glass, if that makes any sense.

I'm really not sure. Anybody else got any ideas?

Same thing happened to me when I had evap troubles with a I.V. that clogged a lot. I thought it was some lime deposits from the kalk or something. I still have it, but mine is only a 1/4 inch or less so it doesn't bother me.

It really doesn't scape off? Did you try a new blade?

Maybe it's just a calcium film.

If it is calcium, how does it come off?

Your probably stuck with it unless you buy a new tank.

Thanks reefman. I think I'll just try to ignore it and keep the tank.
