I was on craigslist the other day and responed to a add about cheap fish and coral. I emailed them and they sent back a very tempting price list but I was wondering if anyone else has ordered from them? They are a Saltwater Livestock Dealer in Phoenix Arizona, the business name is Discount Aquarium Fish & Reef. I did a google search and didnt find much info but thought I would check here on the forums.

It's a tough call buddy. I never shopped for coral on craigslist. I do know of a small LFS about 5 min from my home. I went there and saw a tank in the back that said auction (online sales) anyway the place looked so run down and like a front for people running numbers or other shady business. Some guy came in with an envelope gave it to the cashier he gave him a different envelope back. His prices were cheaper but he had one too many tanks that had crashed....i can go on and on.. all i'm saying is i like to see the care my pets were in before I order something. I have hair algae because i used his R/O ....

Ya, you make a good point. It is just really tempting but if I cant find some people that have ordered with them then I will probably not bother with it.

From the sounds of the response is seems like they order from the wholesalers simialr to the LFS.

some guys on my local forum did it..and it worked..they did a huge background check on the guy and all his info and everything matched..the guys got some orange shoulder tangs and a couple others..

if its the same guy he says he ships for really cheap..and he uses breathable bags and it works..he is legit..

i tried to post everything about it on here but it was deleted..

I know this guy his name is Dr. Chris Kline, he is a wholeseller I go to. I buy most of my livestock from him because it's cheap and they're healthy. Also, he can get you anything you want. He owns a half a million dollar house, a jaguar and a new Escalade. He also, adopted 2 Asian kids which I have seen. This guy is legit and a good person. His store which is named "Discount Aquarium Fish & Reef" is opening on April 2. He plans to run the fish stores out of business by offering low prices and healthy fish. He is not a scam. Yes, I been to his house and seen his kids.

    Ummm, Nope!!!

He is a scam. He is well known by people in the industry. The next time you go out there, ask him about all of the equipment he was SUPPOSEDLY collecting for the Big Brothers & Big Sisters charity. Then he cleaned it all up, sold it, and kept the proceeds. This is not exactly the kind of person I would buy anything from. Eventually, someone will get ticked enough at him to call the IRS for his shady "charitable donations".

In the words of Monty Python, "RUN AWAY!!!, RUN AWAY!!!"
